How Does SearchStation Handle Geofencing

This question is coming up often enough to address ( because we don’t want to seem flippant about a legitimate concern ). There is a bit of confusion about Geofencing anyway, given that it is a new advertising methodology.

Geofencing is the designation of an geographic area for marketing purposes, using beacons, that an app on a mobile device will recognize and serve alerts (ads) to the user as they enter that area – thus the term “fence”. re. I get an ad on my mobile device that a product is on sale as I pass by a store.

This has nothing to do with search
and therefore it is not something we measure (or can measure) with SearchStation. If on the other hand you actively search for something on your mobile device, we do measure that. We only measure search results as they can be seen on a search engine.
